Hi, very good configuration.May i ask why you are using Emet 2.1 instead of current version.
You can try iobit smart defrag instead of auslogic which is better then auslogic

Norton is using a bit more cpu on my pc so i ditch it for now

MRFF71, I've been using NIS since 2009 and like it a lot. It is lite on resources (see below) and protects my computer pretty good.

Well it uses less than Trend Plus I see another trusting user

Its Ram usage is less but its using lots of cpu at my side and one more thing norton is becoming a bit heavier after 2010 version year by year

Ok,Doesn't Secunia and Updatechecker alert you:s

File Update Checker doesn't monitor EMET but Secunia does but says it was up to date go figure. I have updated EMET myself to version 3.0. Again thanks for the heads up

You need parental control as well if you want to safe your computer and child and do u think open dns really block porn sites ............. naaaa.
I am on opendns and at least 3 porn website are opened in my desktop now

Go with norton dns if you really wants to block porn

Lighter than I thought, have you tried k9 web protection for parental controls?

Yes, I was using K9 before OpenDNS. I switched to OpenDNS when I bought the Netgear router I am using now which works with OpenDNS. How it works is I set the OpenDNS IP's in the router's DNS table, then I use a ultility that came with the router which I use to setup the restrictions like you would with K9. What is cool about this router is it forces you to use the DNS settings of the router no matter what you set your own computer DNS settings too. The kids have no choice and it keeps them from surfing most of the bad sites.

I had Norton DNS on my main computer which has the ultility for Netgear/OpenDNS. As a user "I" can login and bypass the OpenDNS of the router and force my main computer to use other DNS settings. Early on Norton wasn't doing so good but I'll have to try again.

Only downfall of TM Online Guardian is that its a paid version with free trial.

I still prefer K9.

Having a DNS server for optimal usage requires the user to be near the server, otherwise connection will be slower than using the original ISP DNS server, although I believe being in the states, this shouldn't be a problem since its more of a problem for EU and SEA users.

That was something that I noticed the first time I used Norton DNS. The servers were further away than I liked compared to OpenDNS. It wasn't incredibly slow but at the time OpenDNS was quicker. As I recall K9 was pretty quick when I tried that.
