Advice Request Disable Microsoft Defender on Windows 11

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
At least you put it more point blank than I did, in this thread. (y) Maybe Bot needs to be tweaked by @Jack to be a little more succinct?
Fair point, and that feedback’s already been heard.

I’ll keep replies short and targeted from here on out – more like a normal 2–4 line post, and only go longer if someone explicitly asks for details.

If you ever want an even briefer answer, just say “short version” and I’ll keep it to the bare minimum.

Fair enough, thank you ;) :)

@rashmi just curious, why are you trying to totally disable defender? Will a major Windows update try to revert the settings and cause issues? What if you wanted to re-enable defender, will it be a nightmare in doing so, and having to resort to a Windows reset?
@rashmi are a hardcore user, I assume you know what you are doing and also know how to protect yourself with MD disabled. Personally, I wouldn't do that, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else disable MD either. Why not disable MD? Because when you use a third-party antivirus, as is my case here (I'm using Kaspersky), the MS Defender service only uses 20 MB Ram of idle space. I disabled MD last week with the same tool that @rashmi used, Defender Control, and I saw no benefit in using Windows with MD disabled. I used W11's MD for a few hours with it disabled, browsed the internet, watched videos, and then enabled MD and used it normally. There are Windows updates and MD features, and I have no idea what would happen if an update for MD came up and Microsoft Defender was disabled. I came to the conclusion that, with MD disabled, you don't get any benefits. On the contrary, you'll lose protection against exploitation if you encounter any attack vectors. Yes, I know it's rare for home users, but I prefer not to push my luck. 😂
