Have done so, did so for Chrome as well, ran ADW cleaner, and Malware bytes screen all clean, But when I open up IE I continue to get pop ups. Shut down, rescan with ADW - find superfish again, keeps reinfecting. Scan attached. Before the tab loads fully - I see t.cttsrv.com

I appreciate your continuing support, and will gladly buy you a beer or two after this!

Okay, then we will try to reinstall Internet Explorer:

  • First download Internet Explorer installation from here and save it on your Desktop
  • Next step is to uninstall Internet Explorer from your PC. Follow Uninstall Internet Explorer from this link
  • Restart your PC
  • Install Internet Explorer that you downloaded in first step

Have reinstalled IE 11 as per your instructions- took some time as it would not let me install it, I had to run a program for windows following instructions on the error given : File ran Windows6.1-KB947821-v33-x64.msu. After that installed I was able to run the installer. But still getting popups - log attached.

The problem also occurred with Chrome, but I have uninstalled it. Otherwise it does not appear to be affecting any other programs (not that I have been using the PC for anything else)
Note that when I unstalled IE Explorer - it only rolled back to IE 8. Was that okay?

Logs attached.

Hi there. Have done a factory reset on the router, and no success. I have attached images. The one with the corner of the window is to show the location. It has t.cttsrv.com in the link.

I also have another laptop connected to this network, and it is not having any problems.

What do you suggest for the next step?

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

icon_exclaim.gif
This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.
icon_exclaim.gif

icon_exclaim.gif
Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.
icon_exclaim.gif

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

It appears that I am now clean! No popups when going to malware website, or news website (stuff.co.nz) that I was using to check out if it works. Now able to play a news video without any difficulty.

Thank you so much for your help! What do I need to do now for clean up?

Also, I am curious - what was the source of the problem.

The Importance of Software Updating:

In order to stay protected it is
very important that you regularly update all of your software. Cybercriminals depend on the apathy of users around software updates to keep their malicious endeavor running.

Operating systems, such as Windows, and applications, such as Adobe Reader or JAVA, are used by tens of millions of computers and devices around the world, making them a huge target for cybercriminals. Downloading updates and installing them can sometimes be tedious, but the advantages you get from the updates are certainly worth it.

Recommended additional software:

  • Make sure that these ones are checked:
    • Remove disinfection tools
    • Purge system restore
    • Reset system settings
  • Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
  • All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)
The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
