The only thing I hate about 7-Zip is that it is not digitally signed.
And not having a nice looking icons and interface. The only thing I hate about 7-Zip is that it is not digitally signed.
When you compress a file, in the Backup tab, click on "Keep previous file versions", and it will add the flle, renaming the same file already in the .rar file with a number appended. In effect, keeping previous versions of the file. Can you give more details about this feature, because I don't understand what it means?
Don’t worry, MacOS can’t either…Looking forward to the day that Explorer will be able to handle ALL popular compression formats without the need for 3rd party software.
I have used it for a long time, but gave up on it bc it is not signed and it got detected (FPs) numerous times.PeaZip offers a great interface for 7zip. It's strange that no one has mentioned it. I don't understand why you would buy an archiver. The only one I might consider buying is bandizip.
Honestly, I would rather change the antivirus. It's not normal if it only reacts to the fact that it doesn't have a signature. May I ask what you are using? At the very least you can usually just send a sample to a lab to be added to the whitelist.I have used it for a long time, but gave up on it bc it is not signed and it got detected (FPs) numerous times.
At the time it was detected by Bullguard and Dr Web. Dr Web whitelisted it immediately, while Bullguard took ages. BTW, I find it unacceptable for a programme not to be signed in this age.Honestly, I would rather change the antivirus. It's not normal if it only reacts to the fact that it doesn't have a signature. Explorer on the latest Windows 11 can extract tar, rar, and 7z files. It just can't create(compress) rar files. There is a third-party software called TC4Shell that enables support for compression formats.Looking forward to the day that Explorer will be able to handle ALL popular compression formats without the need for 3rd party software.
someone here (MT) mentioned PeaZip not too long ago, and I installed it, but haven't used it enough to have an opinion other than it seems to work.PeaZip offers a great interface for 7zip.
