The amount of clicks this poor tester have to do is staggering. Interesting when the test/video is just about to end and Emsisoft got it's fail " stamp ", it still wants to reboot the system. Maybe allow an/any AV to actually 100% complete it's work next time would help for a better correct and fair result.

Just one simple question :

Why are some people immidiately paranoia when some internet test faied their AV suite ?
Those tests are unrealistic and they do not show the real world. Who will ever gonna be infected/bombed with so many samples at once ?
If you are happy with your AV suite and it blocks when it need to block ( to be honest, i never ever encountered any Malware or Virus when using computers and working in IT for more than 30 years )then keep on using it.

My advice, install a good AV ( not a free one ) and enjoy it. Ease your mind and enjoy this lousy world.

peace

I didn't look at everything, but only its system is slow (normal, 2 VMs at the same time.... ) and a disgusting microphone that killed my ears (and it bleeds!! :D ), I didn't last more than 5min.

Skipped !

agree with you. Honestly, I think people who are intersted in the computer security(ex. MT members😶) have lower opportunity to meet fatal malware in the 'real world' because they are more cautious. They update Windows on every release, they choose security product very carefully. The AV companies which participate in famous AV tests and be known and tested by even normal users already have 'enough' ability to protect customers.

Being careful is fine, but caring too much and being paranoid doesn' help improving your security status. I used to care too much and spend money and time for getting 'perfect product' but there was none. Now I watch test results just for fun and let my product protect PC.

ps. I don't mean independent security tests and testers are meaniningless. I respect them and they help choosing AV.

Although finding that WV is an optimal choice for an AV, I am surprised that the gang-banging approach of simultaneous malware run worked in this case. Any AI will need time to "think" when confronted with things like zero-day malware before any block will occur and depending on the system resources available can often be overwhelmed when it is confronted by multiple true zero-day stuff (trust me), while protection would be fine if confronted by them separately.

With this in mind one can reasonably conclude that the oodles and oodles of malware samples used probably were not especially fresh. So although I continue to be impressed in the extreme by WV, a test with a few confirmed zero days run slowly would be more appropriate and demonstrate how special WVSX actually is.

Keep WVSX as on demand / second opinion scanner.
I really wouldn't as the AI functionality would be lost when it is ised just as a 2nd opinion scanner (plus these scans would take, like, forever...)

Agree, but I did not mean to run Full System Scans with VWSX, I never run them even neither with my K... only for suspicious and/or unknown downloaded files...

Even disabling r-t in VWSX, still You can get trojan.generic and other malware detections, probably depending on streaming signatures, so I recommend also keeping it updated ;)

I agree with @L0ckJaw.

Personally, nothing but a good experience with Emsisoft. Now I'm trying out Microsoft Defender, with my subscription about to be expired. However, even though the system got infected, I am quite disappointed that the tester didn't commit all the way through and called it quits. Granted, I don't know what I'm doing with these tests, but I at least expected him to try a manual scan with Emsisoft afterwards. If only to see if just the real-time protection got bypassed and disabled, or the entire security solution crippled.

Question: Did Emsisoft got bombarded to the point that the Behaviour blocker simply could not keep up?
