I can confirm that v10 products use less resources.

On a side note, it added around 5 to 10 sec boot time delay compared to V9.

Aside from that, resources are up and down, whilst on scan and on idle.

I/O/CPU Usage remain stable and normal.

Bear in mind ESET 10 was installed in a 2nd generation i7 with 16GB ram only, not my main system.

The best you can do is to contact directly with the Eset's technical support.

I just chatted with ESET's tech support. Per their advice they advise installing over using live installer. You will have 2 options. Keep ESS 10, or for an additional amount upgrade to ESS 10 Premium (which has password Manager and Secure Data vaults). Here is the KB article he provided:

I have convert with succes my username and passw, but with no succes to activate ESS. The probllem could be that I have downloaded Eset Smart Security Premium and installed on my system and no Eset Internet Security.
