ESET 100 Days Giveaway - Most like a Scam!

I do agree that this website looks suspicious and could be giving out hacked keys and using your contact info to sell to spammers.

ESET needs to be contacted about this website and see if this site is legal and is giving out valid keys.
On the other hand this could be a legitimate promotional site, the only way to know for sure is to contact ESET.

The page is poorly made, but the software is legit.
I called Eset hotline and they did confirm http://www.eset.com/us/about/contact/ The site is legit.

Do you get anything written from ESET to confirm the site is legitimate?

This has caused up a stir in the forum resulting in deleted posts because we need to make sure because we can do the right action.

I could not get a written thingy. They asked me if i am the owner of this forum which is obviously not the case.
So they where not at liberty to give something written.
But the did say that the keys and software provided where legit and authorized.

I will get confirmation from my contact at ESET who is a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Consumer Security.

All we were trying to do was make members aware of a suspicious promo page that could harm members.If you received a key thats awesome and I hope it lasts.I have not received one and I doubt I will.
If I find something out from my contact I will report it here otherwise I am going to put this to bed on my end.

I agree with you about the suspicious site, that was the reason why I've used a temporary mail adress to get the key. I suggest the same for our members, for the registration links which they do not trust completely.

NgXAlex was kind enough to give me an activation code from the highly debated & hotly contested ESET Promo to activate and test

He gave me to sites to attempt activation:

First is the activation request form,a temp. email was used that works for all eset promotions, NgXAlex can confirm the activation code is the one he sent me.

I have checked against servers right after intial activation and it shows valid for ESS,EAV,CyberSecurity(Not the same as CyberSecurity Pro) and it shows not valid for all Business,Cyber Security pro,Eset Mobile as it should for an ESS license.Servers will not give me an expiration date.I have installed it on my ESS 7 and activated ok as I suspected it would.I will report back after a few updates.

Problem here is the US activation shows "The serial number you entered could not be found in our system"

I know some will still argue on this point too.I have used an Australian,French,German,Hong Kong,UK,Swiss,spain proxy and have not received a license using both temp and legit emails.I have used no proxy with a US IP and have received nothing.I know Pro 1 is a legit ESET affiliate partner but the promo page is not correct and the url is not Pro1.When you click store you get a redirect to here http://www.pro1.com.au/shop/ but I can hyper link that in here as in store for example.

On the other hand if I click "Learn More" directly below store I get this URL http://esetnod32download.com.au/404-2/

There are absolutely no promotions from ESET for Cyber Security Pro.I am just reporting my findings.An ESS key will work for EAV & Cyber Security also.This is entirely up to you if you want to try and get a key.If you get a key and it activates that is fine.The key is of no harm and if you download ESS,EAV,EMS Installers from an official ESET site and activate it with the key that is of no harm either.If it lasts that is even better.

I think you guys can see by this why some of us are skeptical and how this raises red flags

It makes absolutely no difference if you activate it via a site or within the program.It makes no difference if you activate it with a Username & Password or an activation Key.The activation key is what gives you the username and password.If you activate it using the activation key within the program you will be sent an email with a Username & Password.This is what you would use if say your PC crashed and you had to reinstall ESET and activate it again.
I did activate on both activation sites with activation key.That then gives you a username and password.If you install the software and click activate product from within the program,you have 2 choices.
Activate with Username & Password or Activation Key

If you activated it via Eset site and now have a Username & password,then you click Activate with Username & password.Then enter the Username & password and click activate.

If you click Activate using an activation key then you get the following

You then enter the activation key and all other information and click activate it then will apply the Username & password within the program.This is exactly the same as using an ESET activation page but it is just done from within the program.

As I said US site no such key exists and french gave me a key.The key activated ESS.Nobody is doubting that you received a key.Nobody is saying you are wrong.

We are saying that the original promotion page is not correct,it has non working links,redirects to 404 errors and worse of all appears as an official ESET site but it is not correct.The promotional giveaway URL is also not correct to the redirect page of PRO1.

Jack and I have contacted people at ESET and we should have a concrete answer on the giveaway page.

It is just poorly designed promotion page. It doesnt show promotion is legal or not. Maybe It was skeptical at first. But Pro1 accept that; this site is their own promotion site. Also Eset said it is valid.

But i really found your reaction too much. Just my idea, not criticism. Because, Reseller and Software developer accept promotion and web page. if you do not trust their words, maybe you should stay away from their software.

Or maybe you dont trust me and n.nvt, so you can contact direcly Pro1 and Eset. You can call them. Their phone number and mail address is not secret.

Anyway, Too much conversation about that. Just i am happy with my keys, all working. Worst scenario is that: it will blocked if there is a problem about promo. So it is not worse than nothing. Just i will remove it if this happens.

Probably they dont sent new keys, i cant receive. Probably they stopped to share new keys so no need more worries for that promotion.

I know all that exT, thanks but I was wondering if it can be activated only from activation key and not from username and password generated from that activation key, from some strange reason, just as strange as the giveaway page is . I have tried activating ESET with some of the keys, it worked...

Yes that was the way I posted in the screenshot.If you are given an activation key,as in this giveaway,download & install ESS,EAV 7 and then click "Activate Using Activation Key"

Here is the final word on this promo even though it is not working anymore.Below is the email from my contact at ESET,it was a valid promo.I stand corrected but I still stand by the fact that I was concerned because the original page was suspicious looking

The key that NgXAlex gave me to test is still updating as of right now so it's a good bet that it will last until it's expiration.This thread can probably be closed as the giveaway is not producing keys anymore.

NgXAlex please check your Inbox.If your still interested in using ESS 7 When your Trial ends in March I will hook you up for providing me that key to test.
