I was downloading AOMEI Partition Master Pro and Eset did detect it as PUP and aborted the download.

I've been using PM for years and I don't remember the installer was bundled with any other apps.

I had a copy of PM in my external HDD and Eset File reputation gave it "poor" reputation.

The interesting part is that AOMEI Backupper is not detected and Eset File reputation gave it excellent reputation.

ESET for Parition master
That Sucks The Office GIF

The detection name: a variant of Win32/MyRecover.A potentially unwanted application.

For now I will use Macrorit insead.
Macrorit is not bad; used before
And ultimately all are products of 🇨🇳

Reputation analysis is very liable to false detections.
I use it as an extra layer; if the exe is for a program used before and downloaded from the official website, I ignore the warn.

I don't know if this does anything or helps on your end, but I have PUPs set to cautious, and not balanced or aggressive. On install, you have to check the box to scan for PUPs (recommended). In my past use, I found Eset will find a lot of PUP's, including the ones in my neighbors back yard 😅 I have mine set for cautious.

I had tons of false positive reputation flags by MD, SEP, B, and sometimes K before.
Only Avast-AVG is playing nice with newly released, less-prevalent installers.

I have pup detection sent to default.

@Divine_Barakah let me blow your mind a bit. Eset is one of (besides some others) the best, especially for settings and adding into HIPS etc, but...I know this is only1 example, but it missed this site, and allowed the site to go to the next Microsoft login page without a peep. F-Secure blocked it out right, by it's browser protection.
It's not where I dump Eset for it's occasional FP's and this, but, I will still use F-Secure and Avast free as well, to help compare and keep each other honest ;) :)

I love F-Secure but its pricing is relatively higher than other competitors. Avast, in my opinion, is yhe best for households as you can get it dirt cheap.

Yes it is, but the last time I renewed, I got a very good deal from within the Portal to "renew subscription". I'll see how it goes in late April early May.
Avast, I agree, as far as ratings, overall protection, being light on the system, and very few (I haven't had any in ~4months) FP's, one of the best :)

Blocked by NordVPN ThreatProtection Pro ( it runs beside my ESET )
It would have been nice if Eset would have done it on its own, like F-Secure did. I did have Proton VPN NetShield running along side of Eset, and it didn't say a thing. Good going for NordVPV 👏 I uninstalled Avast on a laptop for Eset. I wonder if it would have caught that phishing, credential log in page as well, I'm thinking it would have ;) :)

I don't think it was so much about the webpage being blocked, but the download, as a PUP.
Backupper Pro and Partition assitsant are by the same company. BP is not blocked but PA is. Maybe PA has a system optimiser incorporated that made it flagged as PUP. I will send an email to AOMEI and see about it.
