Hot Take Eset detects AOMEI PM as PUP

Hello everyone, this detection is not a false positive. It reflects ESET’s policy of being aggressive with PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), and as the name suggests, the user may not want to use such software for various reasons.

Another security company with an equally aggressive policy is Malwarebytes, and I like both companies for that reason.

I trust ESET’s analyses a lot. If this detection exists (including the correct name), there must be reasons for it. That doesn’t mean it’s something dangerous, but rather something potentially unwanted.

If the software is desired on your machine, just add it to the exclusion list and move on.
