ESET Cloud-Powered Reputation – Enhanced detection power and scanning speed using advanced reputation service and ESET malware collection and analyse
Sounds good...not very inventive since all the big vendors are now relying on the "clouds" ..but it's good to see that ESET is at least lining up with all the others:D
I thought ESET 5 will have a HIPS....did I miss it or they've drop that idea?

hmm, they must have forgotten it on the press release. The HIPS is listed on the product page, and their forum on wilders.

To be honest, when I've first read about ESET 5 , I didn't expected to see a HIPS.....why? because ESET has always been very userfriendly...and a security solution...let's say.... for the newbies..more than for Advanced Users...
It will be "ON" by default or only "per request"? ..I'm asking because ESET is new to the HIPS tehnology so it might take some time before they can have a solid whitelists... :D

It will be interesting that ESET have HIPS so let's see how it goes well.

I have to agree with James, it will be interesting that ESET has HIPS. I might test it, and see how it goes.

I did happen to do a video test of it today if you would like to see it action. :)

Code:

Its HIPS is very intrusive with any and everything, Hoping to see some sort of whitelist in the future builds/final. In the video the HIPS was at default.
