I like Everything because it has fast indexing with instant results.
What will you choose and why?

Are there any issues with indexing? I mean for performance or SSD health or anything else?I like how Ultrasearch doesn't really need an index to locate files as it cleverly searches the MFT. Content search requires indexing, of course.
Any modern SSD will outlast HDs. The old write problems just do not apply anymore. Are there any issues with indexing? I mean for performance or SSD health or anything else?
The indexing done by Everything writes almost nothing. So, performance or health concern is not an issue here. Are there any issues with indexing? I mean for performance or SSD health or anything else?
Just to inform, UltraSearch Free is also available as portable version, not easy to find on the homepage, here is the download link:I prefer Everything as it shows result instantly while UltraSearch takes some time. Everything also officially comes with a portable version which I prefer but there is no portable version available for UltraSearch for free.
Thanks for recommending WizFile, I will give it a try.Between the two, it has to be Everything but I prefer WizFile over Everything
Yes, do give it a try. I am sure you will like it.Thanks for recommending WizFile, I will give it a try.
I just bought the pro license because of this post. I find the speed just fineEverything is faster but the development is not consistent. Reported bugs do not get fixed and there is a massive feature request list of hundreds of features that is bizarre. Lots of bugs reported on the forum which is a dumpster fire. All this does is distract the developer from producing a stable product. Meanwhile, 1.5 development has dragged-on for years. There is only one developer. Does what I need it to do with annoying bugs that have been reported many times by myself and many others but never fixed.
UltraSearch is not as fast, but when bugs are encountered there is an automatic bug reporting wizard that gathers the details and forwards the infos to UltraSearch developers. Over a decade every single bug report has resulted in direct contact from developers and then a fix. Very reliable bug fixes, dark mode, responsive support, and about 15 developers. Freeware version does what I need it to do.
