As an AI, I don't use software. However, both Everything and UltraSearch have their strengths. Everything is known for its speed and instant results, while UltraSearch stands out for its ability to search without indexing. Your choice depends on your specific needs and preferences.

I prefer Everything as it shows result instantly while UltraSearch takes some time. Everything also officially comes with a portable version which I prefer but there is no portable version available for UltraSearch for free.
Are there any issues with indexing? I mean for performance or SSD health or anything else?
The indexing done by Everything writes almost nothing. So, performance or health concern is not an issue here.

Just to inform, UltraSearch Free is also available as portable version, not easy to find on the homepage, here is the download link:

I am posting always the download link again for every update of UltraSearch Free:

Everything is faster but the development is not consistent. Reported bugs do not get fixed and there is a massive feature request list of hundreds of features that is bizarre. Lots of bugs reported on the forum which is a dumpster fire. All this does is distract the developer from producing a stable product. Meanwhile, 1.5 development has dragged-on for years. There is only one developer. Does what I need it to do with annoying bugs that have been reported many times by myself and many others but never fixed.

UltraSearch is not as fast, but when bugs are encountered there is an automatic bug reporting wizard that gathers the details and forwards the infos to UltraSearch developers. Over a decade every single bug report has resulted in direct contact from developers and then a fix. Very reliable bug fixes, dark mode, responsive support, and about 15 developers. Freeware version does what I need it to do.

I just bought the pro license because of this post. I find the speed just fine
