The only minus so far for me is that DeepGuard/Virgo etc (their own detection/heuristics databases) do not update during the weekends. Not sure if anyone else has noticed it.

DeepGuard updated today saturday. Wonder if you @Lord Ami only get those updates during weekdays because your using the Beta version?

I think that your thoughts are very plausible. Although I would imagine him/her to get the updates in advance before you considering he/her is running a beta version, so maybe he doesn't get any updates on a weekend because they are issued to him earlier during the week or there is a messed up setting somewhere deep within F-Secure?

I guess the best thing for him/her to do is to just contact F-Secure customer support and they'll notify him if there's something wrong for him or not. It could also be that this update you've received on a weekend is a one-off thing and him/her you're referring to has also received it along with you. Who knows I guess.

@Lord Ami Did you receive this update?

Your best guess is also mine in almost every part and I do understand now that it might look peculiar as I should have been more clear in the first post. I didn't want the previous quoted thread to get even more off-topic and I hope in first hand those that use F-Secure to check if they see the same and also comment. I'm curious if this is just a temporary glitch or something more recurring and also in what version etc.

I'm more then happy to report this to F-Secure but without more knowledge that report would be very poor at the moment and not very helpful IMO.

I contacted F-Secure via Live Chat to inquiry about this for you, they'll get back to me hopefully by Tuesday because the inquiry needs to be answered by someone at F-Secure who will know the answer first-hand for accuracy (e..g product specialist/engineer).

I'll let you know their response. :)

F-Secure got back to my inquiry today.

F-Secure said that there is no specific guidelines in terms of the day of the week for them to push updates to DeepGuard and that they will release an update as and when they feel fit, which means that DeepGuard can still be updated on a week-end if they have an update to push out.

Did they say anything about the Virgo database? Probably the same but I'm a bit curious on Virgo if it was a previous engine they just renamed etc as I been unable to find any information about it.

Aquarius and Hydras updates are available here : Latest Database Updates

I'm afraid not. I only queried about the update schedule and then they said it isn't specific and they will push updates as and when they need to do so. I've never heard of the Virgo database but I'm not an F-Secure user anyway so I guess I wouldn't know. Hmmm there must be a fan of F-Secure somewhere around here lurking who would be able to tell you

So we have Qihoo fans, Avast fans, Emsisoft fans, Kaspersky fans, G-DATA fans, Microsoft fans, Bitdefender fans, Avira fans,... Where the F-Secure fans at?? :alien::( We need you!

Calling all F-Secure fans, please report back to the central HQ base immediately to provide assistance :coffee:

I'm not giving up and will one way or the other find something about it and ofcourse post that information. I have some nice stuff about DeepGuard but that's for a thread of it's own.
