has anyone tried to add this to an existing license? i have ~6 months left on a lic and sometimes (though usually not) a company will stack them (add the new to the remaining).

Nope, just for 30 days (a normal trial period).

I had one month left on a giveaway and I have added a 12 months lic over it...and everything was stacked. But I don't know if a giveaway can stacked over a licence!
