Hello there, I'm having some trouble with a fake chrome update popup, which is very similar to a fake java popup that I had problems with a little while ago. From getting malwarebytes and it not detecting anything I thought my laptop was fine, but now there seems to be a new virus that acts as a fake chrome update. The redirects have only happened a couple of times and I have run several scans, I just want to be safe and make sure my laptop is completely fine. When I ran Hitman Pro it detected a lot of things, but they didn't seem to be high level threat things. I'm sorry for the lack of detail on that, I'm a novice. As mentioned earlier there is an unknown file called updater.dat in my downloads folder which I cannot find good information on and I was wondering what it was. Thanks!
