A fake search bar appears under the bookmarks and when I start typing into Google it automatically jumps to this fake search bar. Sometimes random ads pop up in a new tab as well. The problem appears in Google Chrome, Windows Edge and Mozilla Firefox as well. The issue is identical to the one described in this previous thread: SOLVED - Google Chrome Faux Search Bar, Popups

Followed all six steps as seen in the above thread but unfortunately the problem persists.

I would really appreciate any help at all as I am not sure what else I can do.

Hello,

Please download Zemana AntiMalware and save it to your Desktop.
  • Install the program and once the installation is complete it will start automatically.
  • Without changing any options, press Scan to begin.
  • After the short scan is finished, if threats are detected press Next to remove them.
Note: If restart is required to finish the cleaning process, you should click Reboot. If reboot isn't required, please restart your computer manually.
  • Open Zemana AntiMalware again.
  • Click on
    4zu6vb.jpg
icon and double click the latest report.
  • Now click File > Save As and choose your Desktop before pressing Save.
  • The only left thing is to attach saved report in your next message.
