Greetings to all. In advance I would like to show my appreciation for any and all assistance with this matter. Clearly, I don't enjoy it when my personal computer is being held hostage. Efforts to use HitmanPro as a solution have failed. After perusing other posts here related to this matter, I have been preparing to utilize the solutions presented. I have downloaded OTL, Farbar and List Parts (on my girlfriend's laptop) - but have unfortunately already hit my first barrier... Attempts to burn OTL to a disc have failed. I am getting write errors and failed cache syncs. This is a Toshiba laptop with a Hitachi/LG GSA-T20F DVD writer. I have been using DVD+Rs to no avail and I have as of yet to locate, online either a firmware or driver fix. I may have to attempt reinstalling the drive. So questions: should I try burning OTL to a CD instead? Is it an option to burn it to the flash drive? If I can't get around this laptop issue, I guess I'll have to wait until morning and take a trip to a friend's to utilize their computer.
