Its similiar like my oldest computer. Did you tried Arch(With KDE)? It s little hardest to install but after install result is powerful distro but if you don t want Arch i recommend install Elementary OS or Deepin.

I havent tried to install any Linux yet. Mut might do after i tested some inside a VM on my machine here. :)

Im not really an Arch fan and have never tried to install it.

Elementary is a nice distro, had it on a bootable USB once. And also i dont know anything about Deepin except the name :D

Theres also a Debian based version of Mint available, maybe i can try that out?

Zorin OS is another good thing to try, more on customization and only a Linux OS to mimic Windows appearance. ;)

About new update :

Sophos is very effective and is running an on-access scanning using the Filesystem Interceptor, and also avoids that the Linux system become malware distribution point to Windows devices (although this is not the case).

Security setup well balanced.:)

IMO: Linux should not be defragmented, simply, the act of saving a given, "measure" mass memory to see if it can contain the file, otherwise, like all Unix, automatically diverts another section of memory.

In one case you must defragment: if your system includes a Windows installation, and you have your data in a partition to which access both Win and Linux.
