The French city of Lyon has launched Territoire Numérique Ouvert (TNO), an open-source collaborative platform designed to replace proprietary tools like Microsoft Teams and Zoom. TNO integrates several open-source solutions:

• Jitsi for video conferencing
• Nextcloud with ONLYOFFICE for document sharing and co-editing
• Zimbra for email
• Chamilo for online training
• Matrix for instant messaging

This move is part of a broader effort by European governments to achieve digital sovereignty, reduce dependency on proprietary software, and enhance data security. The TNO platform is already in use by thousands of employees across various local governments in France.
