G-Helper (GHelper)

Control tool for Asus laptops

Lightweight Armoury Crate alternative for Asus lapopts. A small utility that allows you to do almost everything you could do with Armoury Crate but without extra bloat and unnecessary services. Works on all popular models, such as ROG Zephyrus G14, G15, G16, M16, Flow X13, Flow X16, TUF, Strix, Scar, ProArt and many more! Feel free to try :)

🎁 Main advantages

  1. Seamless and automatic GPU switching (without asking you to close all apps, etc)
  2. All performance modes can be fully customized (with fan curves and PPTs)
  3. Very lightweight and consumes almost no resources, doesn't install any services. Just a single exe to run
  4. Simple and clean native UI with easy access to all settings
  5. Doesn't need administrator privileges to run!

1685272420418.png

This is an amazing little (~4 MB) tool that I found out just last night. Armoury Crate is so crap it runs tons of services/processes and is a bloatware, keeps crashing for no reason but without it I can't change the performance/fan behaviour of my Asus TUF F17, so I was stuck with it. This also includes the feature of limiting battery charge for which I was using MyASUS app earlier. Best part you don't even need to install it, just run the .exe file. Read the FAQs on Github link before proceeding.

GHelper v0.89 released

Experimental : AMD Ryzen* CPU Undervolting

* Works for Ryzen 9, as Ryzen 7 and 5 don't seem to support undervolting in general, but you are free to try!
  • Under Fans+Power -> Advanced you will find sliders to undervolt CPU (and on some models iGPU). **
  • CPU Temperature limit (i.e. throttle temp) **
  • Redesigned Fans+Power layout a bit, now CPU / GPU (Nvidia) / Advanced slider sections have separate tabs
  • App will check for updates more often (every time app is shown, but not more often than 12 hours)
  • UI Fixes
** If you use those features - you use them on your own risk!

GHelper v0.110 released

Power Mode setting under Fans+Power.

Since the first releases by default app would couple each Asus BIOS mode with matching Windows Power mode. Now it should be possible to visually see and edit that for each mode in the app.
Again : it doesn't change app behavior, only gives your a bit more control over it :)
  • Added Windows Power Mode dropdown to Fans + Power section
  • Factory Defaults button would reset Power Mode selection to default for current mode in the app
  • Removed "Auto adjust windows power modes" checkbox from Extra as it's not needed anymore
  • You can still manually override Windows Power Plans (don't mix with Power Modes) via config as before
  • App will select default windows “Balanced” power plan, unless other is specified

Other changes

Changes since last "final release" 0.107
  • Option to set Minutes till Hibernation in sleep on battery (configurable under Extra)
  • "Eco mode fix" will be enabled for all G14 2023 by default (can be turned off under Extra) and available for X13 2023

  • New FN-Lock Toggle / Indicator on main screen (removed from Extra)
  • Fixed backlight options for GA503 #1033

Screenshot 2023-08-14 172534

How to Undervolt GPU

Now app lets you do both : Set clock/voltage offsets (same as always) and set Clock Limit
With 2 sliders you can achieve same "curve" as afterburner would do with it's "undervolting"
  1. Increase Core Clock Offset until your 3dmark / furmark / game runs stable. Start with +100, +150, +200 ... This should make your scores / fps better within same power / heat as before.
  2. Limit your Core Clock to a certain value (it really depends on application / game that you use), to lower your power / heat consumption
Undervolting (1)
