For new Microsoft Edge users who use Bing, but do not want the clutter on the NTP.

How to Hide MSN News from Search NTP
Open the cog on the NTP on new Microsoft Edge.
  1. Choose 'Custom'
  2. Turn off 'Show quick links'
  3. Turn off 'Image of the day'
  4. Change to 'Content off'

I voted other, using Startpage and added BLOCK [*.]startpage.com in Site Permissions javascript, this prevents advertisements of startpage on the search results page being displayed.

Although I have implemented all this I decided to add the blank tab extension from the Microsoft store (link)
