After trying most extensions recently I finally decided on ADGuard for Windows for Firefox & Edge (which I don't use often) & Ublock Origin with Wolf - I did have issues with ADguard but all is well for some time now & my family/lifetime licence for ADGuard had been honoured for many years by the developers - Google can do as it pleases.
What extensions did you try and what exactly the problems with each one of them?

Ad Guard extension, UB Lite, I found neither was was as good as AdGuard for Windows esp. with YouTube - Lite I found got corrupted in Edge up for unknown reasons - As mentioned a while ago AdGuard for Windows crashed from time to time, that no longer happens & over the last couple of weeks or more has been flawless - Personal choice of course but likely to stay with my Desk adblocker.

I agree that AdGuard for Windows is very good, but unfortunately it slows down Firefox browsing, at least on my computer…last time I tried it was like 8 months ago. Any changes since the?
thanks

They have made a fair amount of updates, I suppose the best thing is to give a fresh install a try, it doesn't seem to slow Firefox down here.

I haven't experienced any slow downs unless it's conflicting with some security software. Normally Adguard developers are quite fast to fix those conflicts. Last time I saw any real impact was some 3 or 4 years ago when it has a well known conflict with Kaspersky.

Exactly, I have some BSOD when I used AVG, AdGuard and Firefox combined, and I blamed all three, but it was a conflicting between AVG and AdGuard, if I use only one of them I don't have any problems.

Avast and Adguard have a known conflict for the last few years. Adguard developers said in their blog that they can't solve it as it's a problem with Avast's network driver they can't avoid. There'll be crashes but very occasional. Last time I tested anything Avast (Norton 24) I got 3 crashes in 3 months of use.

When you visit the uBlock Origin page on the Chrome Web Store in Google Chrome, you see a notification near the top that states that the extension is no longer available.

Google writes: "This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions."

The "add to Chrome" button is not displayed anymore for that extension. If it is installed, Google displays a "remove" button instead.

Google Chrome disables uBlock Origin for some in Manifest v3 rollout
Google continues its rollout of gradually disabling uBlock Origin and other Manifest V2-based extensions in the Chrome web browser as part of its efforts to push users to Manifest V3-based extensions.

For those unaware, Manifest V3 is Chrome's latest extension specification and is designed to limit extension access to user network requests, block developers from utilizing remote content, and improve overall performance.

While Manifest V3 is supposed to benefit end users, it comes at the cost of functionality, as it imposes stricter limitations on browser extensions, particularly ad blockers and privacy-focused tools.

Due to this, some immensely popular Google Chrome extensions, like uBlock Origin, are now gradually being automatically turned off in users' browsers worldwide.

Just today, some of BleepingComputer's devices found that uBlock Origin was automatically disabled, stating it was no longer supported. Our only options were to remove the extension or manage it.

While the first option removes the extension from Chrome, the second simply redirects you to the extensions page.

In a Reddit thread from yesterday, other Google Chrome users also pointed out that uBlock Origin and other unsupported extensions are now automatically being turned off.

However, this does not appear to be the case for everyone, as some devices used by BleepingComputer continue to use uBlock without any issues.

How come it went so long from being updated now that support for the older version is being nuked you would think the developer would put all resources into the lite version?
What are you complaining about? He does this as a volunteer? Is it that you want a handout? Demand that it be 'now', right away? That's socialism. Sarcasm implied.

Well if he wants to continue to delay updates he will lose the user-base plain An simple. I hate to break it to you it’s not all free. They receive a good amount of user donations as well. Personally I have adguard as well it’s not stupid to say if development stops users will look in different directions.

Take zemana anti malware as a prime example didn’t end well for them.

Yes it’s called many users helping to support the block lists that are contributing and donating the time to do so. It’s not the developer 100% doing the work. I poorly worded my above statements didn’t mean to say “money donations” but plenty of users donate the time in maintaining the lists.

I only meant Gorhill doesn't take any donation.
Edit: Ohh you edited the comment. I agree with you then.
