This will keep happening over and over again because majority of services opt to use large services offered by big players and no one uses services from smaller companies even though they can handle the job equally well. For example, everyone uses Cloudflare and not a lot of websites use Bunny.net. Everyone uses Amazon AWS, and no one uses OVH, Hetzner or other smaller player in the field.
If we used variety of services and not just two, the internet would be more resilient.
