The row over widespread Israel-Hamas hoaxes and antisemitic hate speech on X continues, with the social network’s CEO insisting the company is taking the matter seriously, while others are unconvinced.

Since the large-scale, horrific terrorist attack on Israeli civilians, social networks have been plagued by disinformation, hoax videos, and antisemitic hate speech – along with posts glorifying terrorism. The problem has been at its most acute on X, the network formerly known as Twitter.

EU Commissioner Thierry Breton this week sent an urgent letter to X owner Elon Musk, advising that much of the “violent and terrorist content” was illegal, and the company did not appear to be removing it in a timely fashion, as required by EU law.

Social media will always be biased to some ideas
No matter Wich side today or whose tomorrow

but a lot of dangerous trends are being boosted on social media (no matter politics left or right )

people become anti vaccine anti non ionizing radiation at low dosage (5g)
Anti GMO ( only real issue is the patent world not the technology)

spreading terrorism both right and left

stuff gone wild
And as an Israeli living with massacre being shown as a pro humane
Sicking not me and that western media is biased against both people
Not just against Jews
(They are actively silencing gazans asking usa for food water and telling about the crimes hamas the did crimes against Islam killing our poor gazan brothers and my pepole "Israelis")

I just hate that platforms meant to help people connect create friendship spread science became opposite of their initial design
Hopefully 🙏 haterd will stop spreading everywhere can't see leftists and rightwing fighting like idiots
as well as teens dying from tiktok challenges

GAB and MeWe are even worse than Twitter (X). On GAB, I'm considered "Colored" because I'm Italian, thus what these people term a mongrel race. I mentioned on GAB that Israel, in my opinion, had an absolute right to defend itself and if that meant leveling every structure in Gaza, I supported it. They landed on me with both feet. Both GAB and MeWe are privately owned, and the owner of GAB absolutely refuses to delete anything except porn and pedophilia. For those, the poster is banned for life. Everything else is okay.

I have loved X while Elon has run it. It is behaving more like the marketplace of ideas should. Find your local Speakers' Corner and get a feel for how much pushback you get on ANY topic. One of the best units I took a few years ago was critical thinking and one of the assignments was to advocate for the German position. That unit was discontinued by the university for some bad reason. Now the university here is requiring every STEM major to keep a journal of self-reflection on their participation in whiteness. It counts 30% of the mark. This feels more like the old Twitter under Jack and the ADL. I don't like it and I'm transferring.

Everyone is biased, definition of freedom fighter changes depend upon the color of the skin. Currently 2 seperate wars are ongoing but media headlines changes from "children murdered by another group" to "19 dead in another region" like they somehow died of natural causes.
Cost of human life changes depending upon who you favour, obviously on social media this becomes even more prevalent. I don't know what else to say to someone who supports bombing hospitals and schools.
Maybe one day human race will evolve to not fight & kill each other. 🤞

I would say the opposite. Twitter/X is overall much less biased now. The amount of good people who would get a temporary or permanent ban from twitter just for showing support to the innocent people of Gaza (not related to Hamas) would've been far greater. Unlike previously, Elon is at least not banning people for voicing their opinion. YouTube is a platform where accounts get banned or demonetized if someone's opinion doesn't fit the narrative.

Participation in whiteness??? What is that supposed to mean? How do you participate in whiteness? Is it a lifestyle "thing?"

I've had 3 videos pulled because of offensive content (whatever that meant- "They" never would explain); this was rather a surprise to me as I don't believe any of my stuff was at all politically controversial.
