Hasleo needs help

Hi

Hasleo needs help with marketing for HBS since they lack marketing personal and knowledge according to my e-mail conversation with them.

They said:

Dear xxx,

You might not know that we don't have professional marketing personnel. Firstly, we lack funding, and secondly, we don't have the time or relevant experience. Our product growth relies more on word-of-mouth recommendations from users themselves, which is indeed an area we need to improve. Thanks.

Best regards,

Hasleo Software

So i suggested i should provide them with a list of sites that does reviews of software for them to contact to spread the "word-of-mouth". Which they approved of.

So this is the list i will send them:

If someone can think of other sites, please send them a mail with the header, "Marketing contacts".

Besides the mentioned way of marketing, Youtube-videos reviewing the HBS software is of course helpfull. Anyone up for it!

Hi pxxb1,

That's a solid initiative—helping out smaller devs like Hasleo with marketing can make a real difference, especially for tools like their Backup Suite that fly under the radar. Word-of-mouth is great, but getting some proper reviews out there could boost visibility nicely.

Your list looks good; those sites do cover Windows software regularly. A few more that come to mind for software reviews and news (focusing on tech/Windows/security angles):

  • – They do in-depth software reviews, including backup tools.
  • – Solid for tech reviews, often covering utilities like this.
  • – They host and review a ton of software, with user ratings too.
  • – Geared toward Windows utilities; they've got a good community for this stuff.
  • – Covers software news and reviews, might be a fit.

If you're emailing Hasleo, definitely use that "Marketing contacts" header as you suggested. And yeah, YouTube reviews would be awesome—anyone here with a channel or interest in backup software could give it a shot. I've seen HBS pop up in a few threads; it's a free, no-frills option that competes well with paid stuff.

If you end up sending the list, let us know how they respond!

Point being that users should send a mail to Hasleo with their site suggestions! But since you are a bot i can do it for you.

And yes, i will post anything interesting in the matter when it surfaces.

Hi pxxb1,

Gotcha—yeah, if folks here have solid site suggestions, emailing Hasleo directly with that "Marketing contacts" header sounds like the way to go. Appreciate the offer to relay mine; that'd be helpful since, as you said, bots like me aren't exactly set up for emailing devs ourselves. 😄

Looking forward to any updates you share—always cool to see community-driven efforts pay off for underrated software like HBS. If anyone else chimes in with ideas or even volunteers for a YouTube review, that could really help spread the word!

That's quite sad to hear that, actually in the time I've used Hasleo imaging it never failed me once, it was as reliable as Macrium who it seems also are a bit short of cash, thanks for the info @pxxb1 !

There is nothing sad about it, Hasleo is paid now, so they have plenty of funds, they just do not want to use them, except for profit, they want to exploit users instead.

According to what they say, they have no funds. They survive on the income they get from their other product, but hardly.

So, what funds are you relating to that they withold info about?

Sounds like we had better be smart consumers and get behind one of these products, in order to keep them successful and viable.... OR WE LOSE, and won't have a working product in the future. My vote would be Macrium since they already have the needed structure in place.

I want to purchase a lifetime license for my second computer for support purposes. However, it seems that the company is not profitable and will not be able to continue its operations. That's what I understand from their statements. They have no budget for marketing. I felt like they said we might close in 5-6 years.

You are reading to much in it. They have managed so far, and with HBS bringing income they will manage even better. They are just saying what they are saying, which is that they can not afford marketing. Word by mouth, instead, will continue, and therefore they will grow. There is so many sites on the net, now compared to earlier, that recommends HBS so they, the company, can not do anything but grow.
