Hasleo Backup Suite is no longer free, and that's a good thing. It ha added numerous features very quickly, and is still very solid and quite fast. If you want HBS to continue to not only exist but to improve, they need money. This is a fair price, given the perpetual license.

Thanks for sharing the update, n8chavez. I agree—it's often a positive sign when a tool like Hasleo Backup Suite shifts to a paid model if it means sustained development and new features. That perpetual license does look like a solid deal for what it offers, especially with things like delta backups and better clone options. Have you upgraded yet, or are you sticking with the free version for now? I'd be curious to hear how it performs in real-world scenarios compared to alternatives like Macrium Reflect or Acronis.

I haven't updated yet. I need to wait for my net paycheck. Besides that, I've been using Terabyte's Image for Windows for about 15 years and not once have I ever had a bad restore with it. It is not as user friendly. In fact, it's quite nerdy. Hasleo is better suited for those new to imaging software. I'm hot sure I'll ever switch over to Hasleo full-time as my resident imager. But I'll buy a license to show my support. Besides it's always good to have a backup to your backupper, no pun intended. And Hasleo a very, very, good alternative to Macrium Reflect. I have to believe that Hasleo had Macrium when designing their features and determining their price.

I am a scrooge by comparison, and my balance sheet rules the family. I concur that businesses need profit to survive, but not at my expense if I can help it. And I don't have that much disposable income. I take the subway because I can't afford to pay $30/day for parking downtown.

*** I agree 100% this is the same argument I have been making for months about supporting Macrium....

But there is a difference between $50 per year that Macrium charges for version 10 and $56-ish for HBS for a lifetime perpetual license with upgrades. Macrium's policy is greedy, whereas Hasleo's seems very reasonable.

Yeah it's good but $54.95 is up there with Macrium. I would of thought they would have priced it lower to gain market share first. And we all know lifetime licenses are almost never lifetime and almost always are changed or discontinued. Hoping for a $35 BF/CM deal, I guess hope springs eternal.

I recently asked ChatGPT about Macrium's financial situation. According to them, Macrium isn't doing well financially. They obviously need the high subscription prices to survive. Since I really value Macrium Reflect, I'm happy to pay the high subscription fees.

Version 5.5.2.0 is expected to have a time limit for important functions.
so they have to change the label from "freeware" to "freemium".

Yes, they still have a free version alongside the paid Pro version.
The core system backup, restore, and cloning features are free. This includes features like delta restore and system cloning, which are often paid features or simply unavailable in other software. We believe this free offering is more than adequate for the vast majority of personal users.

Its also machine verified, lifetime licenses are OK until you do a big change then you can end up with no licence at all, does depend? I'm upgrading at some point & changing my maim board RAM Etc. sometimes yearly can be better value?

Reflect in UK £74 (UK Pounds) Four PC's one year, ($97 US) If you have 3 PC's as I do Hasleo would cost $168 US (£127 UK Pounds) for a perpetual licence - Lot to pay out there? With unknown upgrades??
