Hot Take Hasleo Backup Suite has gone Paid

It does seem that Hasleo are going to get funds for a lifetime sub, but long term that's not going to help them in three years time, when savvy user still want updates etc. Its similar to the old pyramid selling system it works while you still have incoming funds when that stops... I've used lifetime payments in the past & a couple of times its worked, many times it hasn't, that is my experience.

Hasleo Backup is not their only income source. For those who need a cloning alternative, now that it's a paid feature in Hasleo Backup, their disk cloning software is free for home users.

Why have 2 products that are both paid, just support Macrium, it is established, and already has infrastructure and people in place. Split up your support between both products and we might lose them both. Revenue is important, without it no one gets paid, and no one works for free.

Subscriptions are the future, no company can survive without it, unless they have other products that support the lifetime license, then it is eventually doomed to failure.

No incoming revenue stream, no company..

If that confuses you, imagine I hire you, because I was told you were willing to work for free.

Free users act as advertisements, they are paid with the product, paying companies are the target.
Advertisements cost more and have mostly zero benefits, unlike active users, who spread the word.

You make a valid point here. But honestly i am noy a fan of subscription-based services unless the price is reasonable.

For example, I have used Evernote for years, but no I can no longer justify the $12/month price.
