Solved Help needed removing DNS Unlocker.

Ive tried to remove DNS Unlocker on my own, and it is still present on my laptop. It is preventing me from playing Town Of Salem.

It was actually this site that offered the steps and links to removal tools that I followed. Thought the issue was fixed, hadnt used my laptop in a bit, the issue is still present. I followed all steps and process'. Just found out about changing the dns settings to automatic tonight. I also reset my firefox. Wondering if it makes a difference that I used my laptop at a friends earlier and was not bothered by DNS Unlocker ads. I was playing town of salem over there without issue. Now I cant even load the page to play due to DNS Unlocker ads. Please help. No monies to offer, but the help would be extremely appreciated.

Before we start please read and note the following:

• All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
• If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
• I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
• Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  
• Please attach all report using

• Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay for the repair.

That being told, if any evidence of illegal OS, software, cracks/keygens or any other will be revealed, any further assistance will be suspended. If you are aware that there is this kind of stuff on your machine, remove it before proceeding!
The same applies to any use of P2P software: uTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze, Kazaa, Ares... We don't provide any help for P2P, except for their removal. All P2P software has to be uninstalled or at least fully disabled before proceeding!

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

• Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
• Press Scan button.
• It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
• The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
• Press the Fix button just once and wait.
• If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
• When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Import or export bookmarks - Chrome Help


Close all Chrome windows and tabs.
Go to the Start menu > Control Panel.
Click Programs and Features.
Double-click Google Chrome.
Click Uninstall from the confirmation dialog. Delete your user profile information, like your browser preferences, bookmarks, and history, select the "Also delete your browsing data" checkbox.


Click Start, copy in search %LOCALAPPDATA%\ and remove folder Google

I think I found the problem.. I have a strange plugin on my firefox browser that doesnt seem to belong there. Its called "google update 1.3.26.9" I cant remove it. I can only disable it. MIME types:
application/x-vnd.google.update3webcontrol.3,
application/x-vnd.google.oneclickctrl.9
Thats the only info I can get from it.

I didnt really use chrome so I just deleted it. I never use IE. Just Mozilla. They show up on some sites but not others. Kind of weird.

Certain web pages still load the ads by Adchoices. At the bottom left hand corner, while connecting to the page itself, its also transferring data from googleads.doubleclick.net. I know some websites have their own ads, but this is the same program and its occurring on sites that normally dont have ads..

So far so good. The sites that were displaying ads were also taking a lot longer to load, they now seem to be functioning normally. I greatly appreciate your help man. Since there are no more problems, we can declare this PC clean

Now, we can proceed with post-cleanup procedures. Let's remove my tools and create a new, non infected restore point concurrently deleting old ones.


Step 1. - Creation of system restore point and tools removal.


Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.

• Run the tool by right click on the
  
  icon and Run as administrator option.
• Make sure that these ones are checked:
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Purge system restore
  • Reset system settings
• Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
• All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt). I don't need it for review.

Tool deletes old system restore points and creates a fresh system restore point after cleaning.


Step 2. - Tips and tricks to keep your computer clean, safe and in a good shape.
