Hello,
I am new to the forum but have been looking around and see it's a great place for help and information so firt off thank you in advance for any and all help you guys can offer.I just bought a used galaxy note 5 with a broken power port. I have a wireless charger so I let the phone charge up as it was dead. Upon first power on it booted to the fbi ransomeware splash page . I think its the Prism variant as I see that logo in the information tab and it wants the usual payment with a OneVanilla card. I have done some reading and have removed from computers before but not from a phone. I know I need to start in safe mode to get started.
My question is this blocks use of the power button to turn off or restart the phone. Is there a way to get the phone to restart so I can boot into safe mode or is my only option to basically let the battery drain from 100% unbtil it shuts down then charge it back up then restart it going into safe mode from there?
I wasnt sure if there might be a known way to get it to reboot without waiting. This is another issue with non remoal batteries and why manufactures shouldn't use closed battery options. Any help on getting this issue resolved is greatly appreciated as I now know why the guy was giving it so low besides the broken power port lol. thanks....
