I have Win 11, and am using MWBAMW, and MS Defender, is set to scan periodically..

But I was wondering about using Mr. Andy's hardening software, a minimal setup. Which of his software's would you guys recommend, for installation, just to cover any possible holes.

Thank You

Welcome to the forum! Andy's Hard_Configurator is a great choice for hardening your system. It's user-friendly and works well with Windows 11. It complements your existing security setup by adding an extra layer of protection. Always remember to keep all your software updated for optimal security.

If you are looking for something that doesn't require much configuration, then this is the thing :

Thank You.

Should I install and leave at default settings?

Also does Whhlight take the place of Andy's hard config software?

I tried Defender UI today, it probably only works when MS Defender does its periodic scan, however often that is, since MWBAMW is my main solution now.

Welcome to MT (y)

Just to cover any possible holes, I would use Simple Windows Hardening, the most simple/easy tool of @Andy Ful

You can get more/better advice if you post your setup here:

As @Gandalf_The_Grey already mentioned the security advice can depend on several factors like your Windows setup, skill level, and how you use the computer (home user, hybrid-work, small business, etc.). From my experience, hardening software is acceptable until it does not introduce inconvenience. With a simple Windows setup (web browsing, emails, music, videos, and social media apps), one can significantly harden Windows without losing convenience. If you want to use all possible stuff, then any hardening can be inconvenient.
It is good to start with light hardening (SimpleWindowsHardening or WHHLight default settings) and see if it is sufficiently convenient.

Edit.
Most important advanced settings of Microsoft Defender (like ASR rules or Cloud Protection Level) work only when Defender is a main AV with enabled real-time protection. Enabling periodic scans is insufficient to apply those settings.

Thank You very helpful, now if you guys could just fix Logitech's keyboard and mouse software, I would be very happy
