RE: HitmanPro 3.7.3 Build 192 BETA

I have a question about Hitman Pro that I have not found the answer for.

On the product it says it uses AV engines from:

1. Dr.Web
2. Ikarus
3. Emsisoft (includes BitDefender)
4. G Data (Avast + BitDefender)
5. BitDefender

Now since Emsisoft and G Data already have BitDefender, which AV engine are they using of BitDefender?

Why use G Data? Why not just use Avast instead?

Ponder for thoughts.

Thanks.:D

I think Bitdefender is literally using own engine.

As Gdata 2014 is using their own engine with Bitdefender likely sooner it will be update.

Avast was included from the older version before but I think they replaced with others due to performance before (maybe?).

Because Bitdefender is very cleaver... It partners he gives his free antivirus engine, that engine version is 8.2xxxx but there own Internet security engine version is 8.5xxx

HitmaPro is not using the Emsisoft/BitDefender engine, it uses the Emsisoft/Ikarus engine.
You can check this if malware is detected by the Ikarus engine and take a look at the HitmanPro log file.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware is using Bitdefender engine 11.0.1.6 at this moment.

Geez, I wonder what engine they will pick then...

Hopefully Kaspersky, but Avira, ESET or Symantec would also be good choices.

I believe in the past Hitman Pro used to have the ESET engine but got rid of it for some reason.

It makes me wonder why they include G Data instead of just using Avast since BitDefender is already included.

Thanks.:D
