If you want to go to the trouble of installing your own gear at a few hand picked locations around the world. Using shell companies and as much regulatory obfuscation as is feasible then you'd have a high trust solution of your own. I used one a bit like this when I was in high school - Trilightzone Its overkill for me nowadays but I do miss the flexibility.
