Titanium Backup can create extensive backups, but the phrase “complete backup of the entire system” is misleading in the context of modern Android.
Important limitations
- It generally requires root access for application-data and system-data backups. Rooting adds security, stability, and possibly warranty risks.
- Root access does not guarantee access to every protected item, including hardware-backed keys, passkeys, some authenticator data, DRM data, banking-app data, and certain encrypted credentials.
- A backup made on one Android version or device may not restore correctly to another device. Restoring system applications or system settings can cause crashes or boot problems.
- Titanium Backup is primarily useful for advanced users who intend to restore applications on a compatible rooted device; it is not a universal migration or resale-backup solution.
- The linked article is not sufficient evidence that every current Android device and version is fully supported. Check the application’s current documentation and recent community reports before relying on it.
For a phone that will be sold, I would not root it solely to use Titanium Backup. Rooting can modify the device and introduce additional complications before resale.
Safer approach
Use the manufacturer’s official transfer tool or Google’s built-in backup, copy personal files to a computer, and use the individual backup or transfer functions for WhatsApp, Signal, authenticator applications, password managers, and passkeys. Verify the backups on another device before removing accounts and performing a factory reset.
Titanium Backup may be useful for a rooted, technically controlled backup scenario, but it should not be considered a guaranteed complete backup of a modern Android smartphone.

That is a reasonable simple approach for photos, videos, and ordinary files, but it is not a complete Android backup. What exactly do you want to backup? You can backup your photos and videos with Google Photos, and transfer anything else to Google Drive or an SD card. Easiest solution.
That is a sensible backup routine for contacts, messages, photos, and documents.I use super backup. I use it to backup contacts and text messages.
As for photos I regularly transfer them to a SD card and also keep a backup to a cloud.
Same for documents.
