Right. Looks like Microsoft still has some work to do on Windows Defender. Some users are seeing issues, despite certain improvements.

Good to know. Maybe it's also the reason complaining WD is slow to open a folder of executables, or do you think it's unrelated?

Depends on type of executables. If they are just straight apps, probably not. But if they are installers, they can take quite long to get scanned by WD. A lot longer than by avast! for example.
