Hi everyone, I think I have a Rootkit unfortunately. I have a L aptop running Windows 7. I found the Rootkit on 19th September 2016 - Internet is affected, I can access Google search but clicking on any of the sites returns with a network error - pages just don't load. I scanned with AVG 2015, it did not scan - and the only thing I could read it was scanning was 'rootkit'. I googled Rootkit on my phone and oh heck... Windows defender quick scan did not pick up anything either. I can't connect to the Internet and cannot download programs such as TDSS killer. I've switched wifi off just in case - I haven't restarted my computer in case it blocks start up. I'm currently running a Windows defender full scan. I'm a complete newbie at anything tech related and I would be really thankful if someone would be able to walk me through the steps. I have no access to the Internet on anything but my phone at the moment unfortunately. Thank you!
