Well graphics cards based on the Pascal-architecture chipsets are going to outperform these Titan Xs, so you should wait until a similar workstation with next-gen Pascal-based Titans (or whatever they are going to be called) is released. :p

Other than that, this is a beast. Just a beast.

If somebody offered me USD 22K and asked me: "Would you like to buy a car, or this PC?"

I'd definitely, immediately respond: "This PC, of course."

If I had the cash to shell out, I'd choose the PC too. I could give a crap what my car looks like so long as it's running.

Actually this one will do just fine and even overperform the one you mentioned above in some cases. You can barely find an app that will need 36core processor for home use. Overclock i7 6950X to 4.2 GHz and it will do everything (everything can be done even if you don't overclock it). High end Xeons are needed only for server use

Change MSI GTX 1080 for new Gaming X series or upcoming Gaming Z or even liquid cooled solutions with partnership with Corsair. So 2 of them in SLI for 1500$.
Add new Samsung 1TB SM961 SSD (read 3200MB, write 1800MB) for ~ 500$ and . EVGA is also very solid with their FTW Gaming Series.

So, + some mumbojumbo keyboard and mouse, speakers and headphones and you can get all that for total ~8000 $.

22000$ is overpriced just for those 2 Xeons and Titan X's without a real need.

You made a good build obviously but as it seems overclocking, at least on some 6950X chips, it's not such a good idea. Not overclocked if your chips performs as the one in this test should probably be a better idea. Power usage was a joke on this.
Go to 6:43 because site doesn't like linking an exact time video.

Unless people do multimedia work (rendering, etc), multiple cores usually go unused and are an overkill. Even more so when the CPU is overclocked, and the product is at that price (think 2 x GeForce GTX 1080 cost less than 1 x i7 6950X, and you probably could get 3 x GTX 1080s with a little more money than the 6950X)

People just seem to underestimate a nice and simple i7 6700...

I saw some Techspot and ocaholic tests and i7 6950X seems to eat everything on it's way. Dracus said a smart thing, unless you do some heavy (workstation level) video rendering or processing a lot of data, there's no need for any Intel Core i7 Extreme series. In most apps and games it will boost performance just for 1-3% which will went unnoticeable.
i7 6700K is good to go. Of course, there's no need for 3x GTX 1080 , as Pascal chips (or nVidia) doesn't support 3way SLI anymore
