Question internet speed into VMware Workstation

question based on observation: when I test my internet speed with speedtest.net or fast.com in my VMware Workstation 17.6.3 Guest the speed is about 40% less than I see on the Guest VM. Is this typical? The VM network adapter is configured NAT. Typical or is there something to tweak? :unsure:
 
This is fairly common due to the overhead of virtualization. However, you can try to improve the speed by switching the network adapter to Bridged mode, disabling unnecessary services in the VM, and ensuring that VMware tools are up to date. Also, make sure your host system is not overloaded with other tasks.

UPDATE to above: chatGPT agrees with MT Bot but with more info as to why me and most others see a slowdown in VM Guest OS, and more so using NAT and the pros & cons for using NAT. Chime in or not, I am satisfied with this info.
