Went to my mac-mini and using safari opened it to my Ubiquiti router where I can test the connection speed directly from/to the router. It tested at 930 dn / 40 up which is about as good as it gets here (my ISP plan is 1 gig down 40 up). Then tested in VMware Zorin with firefox using Speedtest from a server in more or less same location and tested only 87 dn / 32 up. Just test on win10 Host with firefox & speedtest 567 dn / 39 up. Was NOT running vpn. Can anyone explain why VMware linux down speed is so comparatively slow? Later tonight I will close linux browers and reboot and test on linux again to see if this is some browser-linux issue. Will update later. Thanks.
This could be a linux question or a VMware question, or a browser question -- not sure where to post this question. Running Zorin (Ubuntu) in VMware. Today I noticed reactions (page loading) in firefox seemed a tad sluggish. I currently have 2 windows of firefox open each with several tabs open, but RAM usage has not varied all day, running at 20%. I have some reading to do yet, so have not closed firefox. Thanks.
