• Backup: Portable Drives/Aomei
• Realtime & other: Kaspersky

My advice:

• Consider adding Netcraft to deal with Phishing sites
• Consider using Aomei for Backups as well and maybe use a 2nd backup via the cloud

For 2019:

• Consider upgrading to Windows 10.
• If your hardware is incapable of running Win 10, think about switching to a supported Linux distro.
• If you don't like Windows 10; think about Chrome OS, macOS or Linux distros instead.
