In fact :
It is and it is not :D

ESET default settings are enough for protection. I just like to know what's happening on my system so I set Firewall to interactive mode.
If you like to ESET to detect some potentially unsafe programs (like patches, keygens, activators and similar) you can turn on this option.

Is it safe to run MBAM pro along ESET? Will it affect my system resources and protection?

I'm running both together without any performance/conflict issues!
The only thing you might find is that MBAM's malicious web protection may overlap with Eset's >>therefore giving you two alerts!
You can turn MBAM's web protection off if you like, but it isn't necessary!
One more thing, is to exclude the MBAM "processes" in Eset, and vice-versa!
Then you are good to go!

Hope this helps:)

PS:You can look at Umbra's excellent guide on Eset, but his is for "max protection" not default:

If I may just add :

Hips in ESET Smart Security are practically useless in their "default mode". Until ESET improves HIPS by adding whitelisting it will be turned off on my system. Remember, even if you turn on HIPS to be in Learning Mode, you need to do everything what you supposed to with your programs for HIPS to learn that. And then, for example, a trivial thing happens (CCleaner updates to new version) and you need to "update" HIPS rules to accept it. And every other new program...
Maybe it's better to, in start, you enable HIPS in Learning Mode, run all your apps and keep it that way for couple of days, then you turn in to Interactive Mode. It could be a little annoying but if you turn on Policy Based Mode it will block everything that it didn't "learn" from the Learning Mode...
Again, until ESET adds whitelisting to HIPS it will be turned off on my system.

Do you mean the default settings? I'd say yes, and no if you're looking for more customisations to the product.
Overall defaults should accommodate for all user experience levels, but optimised for least pop-ups.

Do you use your web browser for access to your email accounts? A web-based email account like gmail.com, outlook.com is webmail.

If so, you may not be required to use Anti-Spam, as it's more used for desktop-based email clients (ie. Thunderbird, Outlook etc)

No i do not use/access emails through browser. I have win 8 in my sys and u know it has inbuilt Mail, Messenger features. I use Windows Mail with all my accounts linked, Its kind similar to thunderbird right? Only when i cant view the email properly by Windows mail i access mails with my browser. So what do u say?

ESET doesn't filter Mail App in Windows 8/8.1

Then what should i do to be protected? Earlier Bitdefender used to do that right?
I think no AV adds a spam filter in Mail App... so far...
All (or most) spam mails are filtered in the servers and then sent to the Mail App in Windows 8.
In my opinion, there's no need for a spam filter as I use Mail App for Windows 8 and had no problems so far.
If you still want to add more protection you can always try some desktop apps like Thunderbird or Mail in Windows Live Essentials and ESET will implement spam filter into one of these.

Well i feel more comfortable with Windows 8 mail app itself because of its technology of not logging in again and again. Even if we have the same feature in thunderbird it may become heavy over my sys resources. Thats the only cause i havent switched to desktop apps in wndows 8

Yep, I didn't compare resource usage of the desktop mail clients with Mail App in Windows 8, but I like it is running in background and receives mails in real time. Of course, any desktop mail client (known ones) has "Sign me in automatically option" but I like how Mail App in Windows 8 works :)
