I'm running both together without any performance/conflict issues! Is it safe to run MBAM pro along ESET? Will it affect my system resources and protection?
Thank u for ur guide!I'm running both together without any performance/conflict issues!
The only thing you might find is that MBAM's malicious web protection may overlap with Eset's >>therefore giving you two alerts!
You can turn MBAM's web protection off if you like, but it isn't necessary!
One more thing, is to exclude the MBAM "processes" in Eset, and vice-versa!
Then you are good to go!
Hope this helps
Webmail? I'm not sure what it is but i'm sure that i own more than 6 email accounts for communication purpose.Do you use Webmail?
No i do not use/access emails through browser. I have win 8 in my sys and u know it has inbuilt Mail, Messenger features. I use Windows Mail with all my accounts linked, Its kind similar to thunderbird right? Only when i cant view the email properly by Windows mail i access mails with my browser. So what do u say?Do you use your web browser for access to your email accounts? A web-based email account like gmail.com, outlook.com is webmail.
If so, you may not be required to use Anti-Spam, as it's more used for desktop-based email clients (ie. Thunderbird, Outlook etc)
ESET doesn't filter Mail App in Windows 8/8.1No i do not use/access emails through browser. I have win 8 in my sys and u know it has inbuilt Mail, Messenger features. Then what should i do to be protected? Earlier Bitdefender used to do that right?ESET doesn't filter Mail App in Windows 8/8.1
I think no AV adds a spam filter in Mail App... so far...Then what should i do to be protected? Earlier Bitdefender used to do that right?
Well i feel more comfortable with Windows 8 mail app itself because of its technology of not logging in again and again. Even if we have the same feature in thunderbird it may become heavy over my sys resources. Thats the only cause i havent switched to desktop apps in wndows 8I think no AV adds a spam filter in Mail App... so far...
All (or most) spam mails are filtered in the servers and then sent to the Mail App in Windows 8.
In my opinion, there's no need for a spam filter as I use Mail App for Windows 8 and had no problems so far.
If you still want to add more protection you can always try some desktop apps like Thunderbird or Mail in Windows Live Essentials and ESET will implement spam filter into one of these.
Yep, I didn't compare resource usage of the desktop mail clients with Mail App in Windows 8, but I like it is running in background and receives mails in real time. Of course, any desktop mail client (known ones) has "Sign me in automatically option" but I like how Mail App in Windows 8 worksWell i feel more comfortable with Windows 8 mail app itself because of its technology of not logging in again and again.
