As of early 2026, the cost to mine 1 $Bitcoin in Iran stands at a staggering $1,320, while the market price of $BTC holds steady around $68,000.

Can you Make Money Mining Bitcoin in Iran?
In short: Yes, but with significant risks. The 50x return on investment is driven by Iran's heavily subsidized electricity, which allows miners to produce Bitcoin at a fraction of the global average. However, this profitability is split between state-sanctioned operations that must sell to the central bank and illegal miners who risk raids to pocket the full profit.

LOL I don't think it's a good idea to mine in a place that is going to have missiles rain down upon it very soon.

I knew a few people who picked up store from USA and ended up in Mongolia. China and Russia are good countries too but inconsistent legal framework makes then risky.

Most of the Arab states with huge petro-chemical industries and subsidized power would be my pick if you can assure the governments no trouble will come.

Interesting numbers. But I'm more curious about the risks - how often do raids happen? And what happens to the equipment? Anyone has real data or just news headlines?
