It is a license key. Avast has always been that way. They never blocked licenses for overuse, at least in my case.
you think that Avast or any company will produce 40 years licence key.it somehow illegal type of crack. i used it long time ago when i was blindly using cracks. Avast quarantined it and put it in its virus chest (if i remember the name well) if company produce 40 years licence then why it is not give a lifetime licence instead ??

since i read about damage of crack and how it contains malware /Trojans i stopped using them and instead find free alternative and purchase the important software (Appreciate the developer effort if you could buy licence buy it if not don't use the software ).any developer doesnot work for free. he/she exerts efforts to make and maintain its software and must be paid.try to make use of giveaways and trials to test software. find many discount to buy what you want/like.never overload your system with non used crap ware

Yeah that's the reason I also stopped using cracks like trial reset, tnod for ESET, etc. I just buy licenses for those products. Those executables can very well contain malware. The only file I kept is this one since it's not an .exe file, it's a .lic file and Avast doesn't detect it as threat either.

Dude that license is not a crack! It is serial number. I do not know who created it and how but it is working without the need to install cracks and whatsover.

it isn`t a crack. it is an activation code. you don`t install any thing. it is just a code you enter in Avast.

i was zombie when i was blindly following the instruction of the crack "make sure you run it as administrator and disable self protection during running it " the another face of the sentence "Please help us to permit the Trojan/Malware installation. appreciate your foolishness"

That the point you donot now the source of files/software donot trust or use it . use it on your risk "also if the file is not exe then that means to be safe there was malicious Adobe crack using dll file "by replacing original dll files by activated one.
it is .lic file not serial as i remember. note that there are a lot of malicious techniques such as injection which code be used with any files type
as also i read here by umbra there was some type of malware distributed through .WMV media player files so malware is not necessary executed using exe files however it the easiest way to do that

Wallahi I get your point and I do not use cracks. It is a serial number not a .lic . S2****-******-*****S So it is %100 safe. I used to find AVG keys that work for 10 years and they worked just fine. I believe both compaines strive to be used by users. If a programme works for me, I pay for it. Anyway the key of Avast was a gift from an awesome member here may Allah bless him.

Here's my anwser about those 2 antiviruses in topic: Is Avast safe to use? Anwser: No! Question: Why? Anwser: Because he spying you and selling your data even to cybercriminals. Question: How about Kaspersky? Anwser: Yes, he's safe and you can use him if only your PC can handle a bit delays in launching Windows.

I understand your pain bro. Back in 2009 I had a nasty infection and it was totally my fault. I was using Norton internet security and I downloaded a Keygen for Norton. Norton quarantined it but I was determined to let it run. I disabled Norton and boom PC infected. Malwarebytes came to the rescue. I miss the good old mbam when it had the red M logo and was the best in business. From then onwards I don't use cracks. Another time I got infected was by downloading a trainer for Crysis 3 back in 2013. ESET warned me, but I still chose to ignore my long-term Robot partner and proceeded to execute. What happened after that was a nightmare. After that I gave up using trainers too.

IMO if your NOT paying for a product then you ARE the product. If you don't want to pay i would stick with windows defender.
I agree with this. There is an obsession with tech geeks for free software. Somebody put work into it, the need to get compensation somehow eventually. I don’t mind paying for good products that I like.

I think this rule is not applied about opensource free software that may depend on the donations for development

Yeah I also don't mind paying for products I like. I already have licenses for ESET, Kaspersky and BitDefender. My BD TS package is on the way, although I don't know when it'll get delivered due to the lockdown. But personally I wouldn't pay for Avast when there are better alternatives.

True, but even then the devs can only do so much on the side of whatever makes them money. I like lots of open source projects, but I understand when they wither as the dev moves on or loses interest. I also am skeptical of the holier than thou open source only crowd. Open source doesn't inherently make something great or safe...but that's a topic for a different thread.
