Advice Request Is there any standalone decent Anti-ransomware that works on Windows XP SP3?

For what it's worth, MajorGeeks and Softpedia both say Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool is "Any Windows". Kaspersky's own page for it says very little.

I own Phenom x4 oc 3.8 ghz. And comodo cloud AV consumes about 4% of the cpu. Other products (Zemana) consume only 0.1 cpu.

we're talking about a 8yo 2 core notebook cpu

decided to give up and let faith decide. told the notebook user to never open anything he doesn't know , especially email attachments.

Think so. I updated to the most recent version last night on a XP machine with no problem.

Hm, thats strange. Maybe some incompatible problems? I dont use it anymore but it used no cpu at all on my end. under 1% for sure.

@mekelek my laptop too is 8 years old ( 8 and a half to be exact ) and W7 is running very smooth.
Laptop specs CPU P 8400 Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHZ and 4 GB RAM DDR 2 800 MHZ

I think somebody mentioned CryptoPrevent. FoolishIT has greatly upgraded it, it's no longer just registry settings. It's running well on an XP for me.
