K7 is an Indian cybersecurity company that is quite well-known in India.
For several years now, they have been offering their flagship product: K7.
For a long time, the product remained stagnant, with few new features...
About two or three years ago, K7 launched MAT, their machine learning AI, which is expected to boost the antivirus’s behavioral detection capabilities.
Let’s take a closer look at all of this!

NOTE : I switched video editing software to give it a try. I edited the video in CapCut on Linux (Bazzite - Fedora). I’d love to hear ALL your feedback on the video quality—it’ll help me decide on my final choice (and whether it’s worth paying for CapCut).

Interface :

The interface remains as clear, attractive, and intuitive as ever.
Everything is well-organized and easy to read, so even beginners won't feel lost.
The program is lightweight.

Web protection: 8,5/9
1 URL is dead.
1 file was partially blocked by the antivirus.
The rest were blocked.

Fake crack : N/A
The sample is too old and the site that distributed it was down.
Skipped.

Malware Pack : 68 out of 126 threats remain
Despite excellent performance on the web, K7 still performs only averagely when it comes to file scanning.
Even though it blocks several attacks (using behavioral blocking), the machine gets infected very quickly—to the point where it crashed completely when I tried to launch KVRT: the VM had to be restarted, and I could no longer boot the user session!

Final scan :
K7 : 0
NPE : 8
KVRT : Couldn't be started: the VM crashes when I try to run it

Final opinion:

K7 performs about average.
It performs excellently on the web, despite some blockouts, but lags behind when it comes to files.
Its antimalware engine is still only average, even though MAT blocked several attacks during execution: the VM gets infected very quickly and crashes off-screen.
A very mixed result.

Lots of wasted potential over the years. Can't be recommended.
