Linux Mint is good, but Ubuntu is having alot of issues and therefore Linux Mint also.

My favorites are OpenSUSE, Manjaro Linux and Linux Mint.

difference here between how ubuntu and mint handles updates.
Ubuntu updates everything all in one where as mint gives options at what level updates can be applied.I think users need to be aware of this when comparing these 2 distros.

in mint there is a warning about applying level 4 and 5 updates where as ubuntu does not offer this option.

Many People have Problems with GIMP for example as well. Theyre changing their Display Manager.

Im quite confused, in the video, he says he had problems with an off flavour of ubuntu installing themes, Unity he was just impressed with in this video, working just fine, and just stated in the end of the video if you want complete stability use the LTS which is 14.04. which happens to be the version Mint is based upon in this thread.

I asked about your statement, as i have Unity 14.10 on a desktop here, working just like above, smooth and fast, i have Ubuntu MATE 14.10 on my main laptop, it is working well above and beyond my expectations..

OpenSUSE looks like a clean & professional looking OS, I've never tried it though, Is it good?
