RE: My Laptop Security Config

I would assume you are either using umbra's CIS settings or Chiron's since those are the most popular.

Any browser extentions? If not, download WOT and Adblock plus for Comodo and IE (for IE, the equivalent to adblockplus is something else).

Consider adding:
Backup solution (Macrium, Paragon or Easeus Todo): all have free versions

Virtualization: Sandboxie or Bufferzone Pro: both free

On Demand Scanner: Emsisoft Emergency Kit

Unlock files/folders software: Unlocker 1.9.1

Uninstaller: IObit Uninstaller

Maintenance: CCleaner, IObit Advanced System Care Free

Well I usually end up reformatting from scratch since I never have any luck with software, what is the easiest backup to use that never fails?

For free, Macrium or Paragon. Paid, Acronis by far.

Great, how do you guys restore a backup?
Do you reformat first and then overwrite it with backup or just overwrite the existing install?

You would just overwrite the exiting install.

Ok but either would work i'm assuming?

It would but if you want to keep your old operating system there, I think you might get confused, but if you overwrite it then you won't get confused.

in fact when you restore a backup , it is like almost like you reformat, since it delete the old system.
