January 1-10, 2017

Improved categorisation of Sub-Forums and availability of Custom Prefix (where available).

• Technology - Updates and Questions now replaces General Technology Discussions, PC Hardware and Accessories, Smartphones and Tablets
• HitmanPro (Sophos) replaces Sophos and HitmanPro (Surfright)
• AVG and Avast available as separate sub-forums.
• Showcase Machine moved to News and Technology
• Popular prefixes such as Question, Poll and Changelog are pinned to make it easier to find.
• Android and iOS prefix are now available for Security and General software sub-forums, including Apple, Microsoft and Google.
• Fixed prefix for Guides and Troubleshooting.

February 8-14, 2017

New Mobile Security Configuration Wizard for 2017.

• MT Rules - Posting under the Mobile Security Configuration (2017)

Improved organisation of Security Configuration Wizard for Mobile and Desktop.

• Now nested under Welcome to MalwareTips.
• Archive sub-forums for last years' threads.

New Guideline for Security Configuration Wizard for Mobile and Desktop - starting today.

• Members are advised to Create ONE Thread per 12 months.
• Multiple threads created within 12 months will be removed or merged without notification, as appropriate.

FAQ: Do I create a new thread?

• If your thread was created on or before 31st December will be moved to the Archive. Create a new thread.
• If your thread was created on or after 1st January will not be moved. Update your existing thread.

• Minor style changes to the (MalwareTips 2.0) default theme.
• New fields and prefixes added to the Hot Deals and Discounts forum
• New blocks added to the Sidebar on the forums list.

• New default layout/theme for the MalwareTips Community. - Feedback - The New MalwareTips Style (2017)
• New logo - MalwareTips Logo 2017 Explained
• New feature: Covers. Members can now upload an image on their profile page and other custom locations. - Feedback - New Feature: Covers (BETA)
• New optional style: MalwareTips Midnight. This is the dark/black version of our default layout. - Feedback - MalwareTips Midnight Style
• Discontinued: MalwareTips 1.0 and MalwareTips Dark 1.0

The Forums structure was changed: new forums were added, while other forums are now under different categories or were renamed.

20 July 2017
A new block with different filters was added on the forums list: This new block contains tabs with different filters, in which members can see the threads with the Most Views, Most Likes and Most Replies. Up to 9 threads can be loaded on each filter via the "More" button. On the last tab, members will be answer a Poll.

04 September 2017: A few new emoticons were added. These new "smilies" are available to all usergroups.

06 September 2017: We've decided to completely re-do all the emoticons. A new set of "Smilies" is now available, and unlike the previous version, these new emoticons have a high resolution so they should look good on all devices.

• We've promoted @harlan4096 and @Solarquest to the Moderator status. They will be moderating the below forums:
  @harlan4096: Security Configuration Wizard
  @Solarquest: Malware Hub
  
• A "Developers" section has been added to the Members Online Now sidebar block. In this section members will be able to see all the Developers that are online.
