That link is not loading.
What kinda link is that?
It resolves to:
Code:
http://www.phishingpage.com/giveawayscam
Which thankfully doesn't exist, the point being you shouldn't just click on the link without analysing it first
The first thing that should make you suspicious is reading the giveaway rules in the first thread, which tells you that winners will be sent their license key by PM..
- NOTE : Winners must acknowledge their selection by replying to the private message within 10 days of the posted results to receive their license or a new winner will be drawn.
Next and perhaps most obviously, is the fact that
@Jack is the organiser of this giveaway, I'm not even staff here (notice my lack of staff badge), so why would some random member be sending you the link to collect your license key?
Finally, you should
always be suspicious of shortened links, they could take you anywhere. You can use sites like this:
http://www.urlreveal.com to reveal the real url. If you'd done this you'd see that the link I gave you was actually fake (but it could just as easily been a real phishing page, or even linked to exploits).
Don't forget to scan the real URL with an online service, for example at VirusTotal
https://www.virustotal.com/#url to lessen the chance that you'll encounter a scam. And of course you can always check out my guide on identifying phishing pages here:
