Along with the launch of The Last of Us Part II at the PlayStation Experience event this weekend, Capcom settled the rumors of a new game in its cross-over fighting series with the announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Writing on the PlayStation blog, Director of Digital Media and eSports at Capcom Neidel Crisan announced that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will not only include single player Arcade, Training and Mission modes, but the new game also features a cinematic Story Mode that "puts players at the center of both universes as they battle for supremacy against powerful forces and a new villain." Capcom is also including online modes with ranked and casual matches, global leaderboards and lobbies with spectator modes.

You can watch the trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite that shows off Ryu and Mega Man taking on Iron Man and Captain Marvel here:

The game's full roster hasn't been confirmed yet, although Capcom has confirmed that we can expect Captain America in addition to the characters already included in the trailer. The company will reveal more of the characters in the run-up to launch.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is still under development and is due to be launched on PlayStation 4 across North America and Europe in late 2017.
