MB will not stop starting with the OS at boot up

I have disabled it in startup under msconfig.

I have unchecked "start with windows" in the system tray.

I have unchecked "start MB anti malware with windows" under advanced settings.

It still starts when I boot into windows 7. I don't like all the false positives it throws up and just want to start it manually.

any ideas?

Do you mean MBAM? Malwarebytes? I would just remove it & download MBAM clean & run it then download the free on demand version of MBAM. Thats what I have & no problems with it.

ya Malwarebytes. I tried uninstall, reinstall, but it retains my premium license automatically and then starts itself. so annoying.

I have decided to just use Kaspersky AV 2015 and Appguard with Malwarebytes on demand.

OK... I thought you were using the trial version. There should be someone along to help you. Please keep checking for additional posts.

First make a new system restart point.

Then download this tool:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

And see if MalwareBytes is listed anywhere? Also when you start MalwareBytes, be sure to "Run as Administrator" before you uncheck the option, otherwise it won't be able to save the settings.

If you have premium activated, the whole thing including service starts itself after every database update. It's extremely annoying.
